Class 2:  15 August Learning theories Hi colleagues I am going to talk about learning theories that we have discussed on the 15 August, your opinions, corrections and comments is be much appreciated incase my understanding is wrong. Theory is a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained Learning theory is a conceptual framework describing how knowledge is absorbed, processed and retained during learning Below are the learning theories: BEHAVIORISM Behaviourism - is a worldview that assumes al learner is essentially passive, responding to environmental stimuli.  I will make an example of this theory in public library environment in getting a child to read.  The teacher-librarian will have to make reading exciting, motivate, encourage and reward with a gold star (stimuli) each time a learner finished a book.
