Class 1 - 8 August
I would say the one that stood out for me is technology, the changes going on today create an opportunity and a necessity for a transformation in the education system and in the way children are thought.
Now that everything in online students are no longer depended only on teachers and the books, they search online, either at home or in the library. In the past centuries everything was manual, information was in the book, and the students relied more to educators and librarians for information. Teacher-Librarians are not longer considered as caretakers of the books.
FACTORS THAT HAVE LED TO THE EVOLUTION OF TEACHER-LIBRARIAN ROLE OVER THE DECADE
Teacher Librarian in 1970 |

Teacher-Librarians are not longer considered as caretakers of the books.
Digital material became available in the late 20th and 21st century bringing a need for IT support for library patrons, libraries moved beyond library as repository to become centres supporting teaching and learning. Now teacher-librarians are information providers, consultants, curriculum activists and most important, teachers.
I am just happy to see the role of librarian evolving, I always felt librarians are walking and talking encyclopedias.
