Difference between "Bibliographic Instruction and "Information Literacy"
Bibliographic Instruction and Information Literacy

As Ms Mohamed said that Information literacy has many definitions and it requires many skills. In addition to other definitions, I like the way the following theorists define the IL:
Patric Breivik, Carol C. Kuhlthau, Hannelore Rader, Christina S. Doyle and Christine Bruce that Information Literacy is the ability to define information needs, knowledge of variety of information sources and information seeking techniques, patience, flexibility, attention to details and the use of critical thinking to evaluate materials. (read more on Google: Life long learning in public libraries: principles, programs and people by Donna L. Gilton).
To be able to locate the information one will need bibliographic tools such as library database "OPAC", online databases such as Britannica, World book online, and etc. and that takes us to "Bibliographic Instruction" which involves all the activities /programs that teach uses on how to use library resources, how to locate information effectively. To mention one of the programs "Library Orientation", the user must know the layout of the library and how the information resources are arranged in order to locate the information easy.
